At the project, we feel strongly about environmental education. We want to ensure that the animals we are conserving can be respected for generations to come.
When touring the property, visitors are informed about what factors have caused the species at the property to become endangered or threatened. In most cases this is due to habitat destruction and human ignorance and so it is important that all visitors leave with the knowledge of how they can help.
Students from nearby schools also regularly visit and here they are made more aware of how they can personally help. We encourage them to tell their friends and families about what we are doing here and give them advice on what they can do in their own backyards.
We are hoping that in the future we can run more in depth education programs and get the local community and schools more involved.
